Lou Gehrig, Kurt Russell's Dad And A Home Run Bat With A Grand Story To Tell
The above is a link to The Post Game blog with a great story. The title doesn't do the story justice.
Life is about the journey and its experiences. After all everybody eventually gets to the same destination.

Is it possible
Is it possible that all my teams can win on the same week?
Can the kids win their games or races, can the pro teams win, can my fantasy sports teams win? Sometimes like in September it could be tough, with kids baseball, football and soccer, pro baseball and football and fantasy football and baseball. But other times like this weekend their was only pro and fantasy football. Only two games. Couldn't even win one.

New Orleans
I had the opportunity to travel to New Orleans the other week. I had visited New Orleans over 20 years ago but only for a weekend so I didn't know too much about it.
The visit was quick, less than 24 hours but long enough to have a couple of meals. The first was at Emeril's in the Warehouse district. The reviews were good and it didn't disappoint. I had the Drum Fish special which was excellent. I washed it down with an Abita Jockamo IPA. It was great. At the next table I believe that Zach G. from the Hangover movies was dining.

The next day I had lunch at Herbsaint. The gumbo was exceptional. They also had drum fish on the menu, after the previous night I had it again. Although not as good as the night before it was very good and would order it again.
The Hilton Garden Inn was okay but convenient.
The best part of the city was probably the people. Everybody was friendly, and helpful. It would be a fun place to stay with good friends.

Not much good
Another bad loss by the Eagles. The best part was the entire stadium chanting,
Fire, Andy, fire, Andy.
Fire, Andy, fire, Andy.

R2l
R2L s the restaurant on th 38th Floor of Two Liberty Place.
Great views even if the day was overcast, the service was good and the burger better than most. In fact the actually patty might have been the tastiest I have had, but the rest was just ok. Overall a strong 3.75 score but not as good as 5 guys, 500 degrees, Ted's or the Perch Pub.

Airports
November 15 and Christmas decorations are being put up in Philadelphia airport.
Charlotte Airport is so high class that it has bathroom attendants in the bathrooms with tip jars. It seemed kind of weird especially because the guy was on his cell phone.

Brad Wing
Have you ever heard of Brad Wing? The WSJ on Friday had a very good article on the Aussie punter who plays at LSU. He has punted 39 times, 20 inside the 20 but the most amazing stat is that opponents have only 7 return yards. An average on about 6 inches per punt.
Redneck
Spend the afternoon today using the chainsaw on a fallen tree. After finishing I sat in the garage on a beach chair, grabbed a High Life and watched the world go by. And it was good.

If
If the Eagles were a baseball team they would be the Mets.
At least I now know how PrimeTime feels during baseball season. The good news is that the football season is not as long as the baseball season.
Just fire them all.

Sonic
The burger challenge continued (although on life support) with a visit to Sonic. The concept of delivery to your car is novel and was surprisingly fast. The food was nothing special. The Super Sonic Bacon Double Cheeseburger was disappointing. Very little flavor. It did smell good though. I also tried the mozzarella sticks which started good but ended with a very greasy taste.
This is not a burger to compare with 5 guys or even Wendy's.

Walters Golf
A friend told me about his new service at a golf course in Las Vegas. Very Interesting.

Sportsmanship
At one point during a game, the coach called one of his 9-year-old baseball players aside and asked, "Do you understand what cooperation is? What a team is?" The little boy nodded in the affirmative.
"Do you understand that what matters is whether we win or lose together as a team?"
The little boy nodded 'yes'.
"So," the coach continued, "I'm sure you know, when an out is called, you shouldn't argue, curse, attack the umpire, or call him a pecker-head. Do you understand all that?" The little boy nodded 'yes' again.
He continued, "And when I take you out of the game so another boy gets a chance to play, it's not good sportsmanship to call your coach 'a dumb a--' is it?" The little boy shook his head 'NO'.
"GOOD," said the coach. "Now go over there and explain all that to your grandmother."
